Futurist Typography

I’ve picked my topic for my final project for college.
‘Futurist Typography’
The typographic experimentation of the early Futurists brought about a ‘new, more intense and expressive language of communication, neither literary nor graphic, but a synthesis of both.’
So going to look at:
Filippo Marinetti (his pic above)
Fortunato Depero
And I need to get this book Futurist typography and the liberated text By Alan Bartman
Piece of (really interesting-can’t wait to get stuck in) cake!
Mighty spritey
![]()
Look what I found! Well I actually went looking for just the tool, last time I tried getting the co-ordinates from Fireworks it took far too long.
With the css-sprite tool you can upload a group of images and it compiles them into the one sprite AND gives you the css co-ordinates for each image. It also allows you to upload an image and with a view finder cut out the different images and then you the css co-ordinates.
Still a bit buggy though but works fine, actually coded in jQuery!
Right get sprite slicing
I like foxes
Found nice pics of foxes while I was having my morning snoop.
1st one is by Ty Wilkinsin who is an illustrator and graphic designer who lives in Wichita, Kansas.
2nd is called Henri by Sam Wedelich. And description goes ‘Henri was on her mind. he was such a fox!’ for sale on her Etsy. Hmm could I be tempted?
3rd is called ‘Fox,Forest,Frost’ by Amy Blackwell. Available on her Etsy too. Love it!
I think I like foxes because they’re sly and orange..like me?
PrePosterous

So set myself up a Posterous account, new microblogging site where you just email your post with attached images, video, mp3s etc to post@posterous.com. I like it. Simple. Very good for when you’re on the move.
Need a new phone mind you, can’t believe the guy in the phone shop cancelled my insurance as he said it wasn’t even worth insuring!
Right 2010 shopping list:
New phone
Maid for my room
Crap on the wall
Stumbled across this image today when I was doing my project for college and discovered this site neatorama.com. Content I imagine it exciting teen boys (and my brother).
Cool image all the same.
